Not every play command deserves a phone unlock. The WiiM Voice Remote puts the everyday controls of a WiiM streamer or amplifier on the coffee table instead, so guests and family can run the system without the app.
A push-to-talk button adds Alexa. Hold it, speak, and the built-in microphone passes the request to the connected WiiM device; the microphone only listens while the button is held, so there is no always-on mic in the room.
It connects over Bluetooth Low Energy rather than infrared, so the streamer can live inside a cabinet, and it works across the WiiM range apart from the Vibelink Amp and Sub Pro. It takes two AAA batteries, which are not in the box.
