A pair of passive speakers and this single compact box make a complete hi-fi. The WiiM Amp handles streaming, conversion and amplification in one aluminium chassis, with the WiiM Home app tying services, sources and settings together.
In an Apple household it is the natural pick of the range. AirPlay 2 and Siri are on board and it groups with HomePod speakers, while Alexa and Google Assistant cover everyone else in the house.
It also does television duty. HDMI ARC brings the TV's sound through the stereo pair, so films and series get the same treatment as music, and the bedroom or study system this replaces never has to come back.
