The SB-5000 REvolution is a sealed subwoofer on a different scale. Its glass-fibre composite driver is meant to pressurise a substantial cinema while retaining the direct, controlled character that draws listeners to a sealed design.
SVS drives the dual voice coils with two monoblock amplifier sections. Each output stage controls one coil, backed by a regulated switch-mode power supply and fast DSP that monitors thermal behaviour, voltage and excursion as the soundtrack moves from silence to full impact.
This is not the compact option in the range, and it makes no attempt to look like one. The appeal is reference output without port noise, together with app-based equalisation precise enough to make that output belong to the room.
