Sonos Sub 4 adds a dedicated bass channel to a compatible Sonos music or television system. This is the full-size option for Arc, Arc Ultra and larger Sonos speaker systems that need more headroom than Sub Mini.
Two inward-facing woofers operate in a ported enclosure, cancelling much of the mechanical vibration that would otherwise shake the cabinet. With Sub 4 handling bass, the main Sonos speakers can concentrate on their own frequency range.
Pairing, level, phase and Trueplay tuning for Sub 4 are handled through the Sonos app. This Sub 4 still needs mains power, and its placement should be tested in more than one practical location before the room measurement is saved.
