Sonos Era 300 is shaped around spatial audio rather than a conventional forward-facing stereo layout. Six drivers direct sound ahead, sideways and upward, allowing one speaker to create a broad music presentation and a pair to supply rear height information in a Sonos cinema.
Four tweeters handle the centre, side and ceiling-directed channels, while two woofers fire left and right for balanced lower frequencies. Each driver has its own Class-D amplifier, and the hourglass cabinet keeps the acoustic paths from simply pointing in the same direction.
The Era 300 makes most sense where Dolby Atmos music or an Arc-based surround system is part of the plan. It can still play ordinary stereo material, and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth plus optional USB-C line-in make it less dependent on one type of source.
