The Rotel RAS5000 brings network streaming, digital conversion and a substantial stereo amplifier together in one black chassis, a single component at the centre of a serious hi-fi system.
Streaming services, a television over HDMI eARC and existing sources on its digital and analogue inputs all run through the same amplifier. A modern music library and a CD player can share one system and one volume control.
Beneath the streaming platform sits a Class AB amplifier fed by a Rotel custom-designed toroidal transformer. Symmetrical circuit board traces and carefully chosen resistors and capacitors in the signal path keep that power in service of the recording.
Day to day, the companion app and the supplied remote keep control simple. Preamp and subwoofer outputs leave room for the system to grow with larger speakers or deeper bass later on.
