Polk Reserve R200 Bookshelf Speaker

The Reserve R200 is the larger of the two Polk Reserve standmounts, and the extra cone area changes what the speaker can do rather than simply making it play louder.

A six and a half inch turbine cone reaches lower than the compact model manages, far enough down that a subwoofer becomes optional in a medium room instead of essential to the system.

Above it sits the same ring radiator tweeter used across the range, crossing over higher here, which leaves the woofer carrying more of the vocal band before it hands across to the treble.

Sensitivity and nominal impedance are unchanged from its smaller sibling, so amplifier requirements stay modest despite the bigger cabinet. This is the standmount to choose when stands are acceptable but floorstanders are not, and it rewards being pulled clear of the wall behind it.
