Polk Reserve R100 is a compact bookshelf pair for a smaller stereo room, desktop-distance listening or surround duty. Its narrow cabinet uses a 5.25-inch Turbine Cone rather than shrinking the tweeter and crossover into a lifestyle speaker.
The Pinnacle Ring Radiator spreads high frequencies through a shaped waveguide, while Polk's rear X-Port uses internal resonators to reduce port and cabinet noise. Together they aim for a clean two-way handover without turning the small box into a bright demonstration speaker.
Place the pair on rigid stands with space behind the X-Port and partner them with an amplifier comfortable at the 3.6-ohm minimum. A subwoofer is sensible for cinema, but the R100 can remain a straightforward two-channel system in a modest room.
