Its tweeter grows to a full inch alongside the larger mid-woofer, and the pairing pushes response both lower and higher than the smaller cabinets manage. Outdoors that extra top end helps, because there are no reflections to carry detail back to the listener.
Extension reaching into the low fifties is unusual for a cabinet of this size, and it is the difference between music sounding thin in the open air and sounding complete.
Weather certification is identical across the range, so specifying up to this size costs nothing in durability, only in wall space.
