The Atrium 4 is the compact member of the Polk outdoor range, sized for a patio, a balcony or a covered walkway where a larger cabinet would sit heavily on the wall.
Weather resistance here is not a coating applied over an indoor speaker. The range is certified against salt fog, immersion and corrosion to standards drawn from industrial and military testing, which is what lets a pair stay mounted through a full year outside.
Coverage counts for more than sheer depth in an open space. One mid-woofer with a small tweeter above it spreads sound evenly across a seating area without being driven hard to do it.
An eight ohm load and a modest power range mean several pairs can share one amplifier or run from a distribution system, which is how most gardens end up wired in practice.
