Monitor Audio Gold 300 6G Floorstanding Speaker
The Gold 300 6G is the compact floorstander of the range, narrow enough to stand in an ordinary living room without taking it over. Two bass cones, a separate midrange driver and a pleated tweeter fill a cabinet that stays visually quiet in the corner of a room.
Twin bass cones share the low-frequency work while a dedicated midrange driver carries voices, an arrangement that keeps the presentation composed when the music turns busy.
Extension runs into the lowest octave in a real room, and the pleated tweeter carries detail well above the audible band, which shows up as air around instruments rather than as brightness.
For most domestic rooms this is the sensible size in the range: full-range performance without the footprint or the amplifier appetite of the largest model. Placement is forgiving as well, since the cabinet tolerates sitting closer to a rear wall than many designs reaching this low.
