MartinLogan Motion Foundation B2 is the larger bookshelf model in the series, with a 6.5-inch mid-bass driver for listeners who want useful bass from a stand-mounted enclosure. The B2's Satin White cabinet gives the speaker a lighter visual presence while the black baffle keeps attention on the drivers.
Its aluminium cone covers the midrange and bass before handing over to a Gen2 Folded Motion tweeter at 3.8 kHz. The matching waveguide controls the handover through the crossover region so the speaker does not only sound balanced in one narrow seat.
Use the B2 on a rigid stand with the tweeter near ear height and leave space behind the rear port. It is substantial enough for a compact two-channel system and equally comfortable as a front or surround speaker in a Foundation home cinema.
