The heart of the B1 is the Gen2 Obsidian Folded Motion Tweeter S. Because that panel barely has to move to produce sound, it responds with a speed and precision a normal tweeter struggles to match, which is exactly why MartinLogan speakers are known for their airy, detailed treble. On the B1 it reproduces fine texture in voices, strings and cymbals with a clarity that genuinely surprises people at this price.
Paired with the tweeter is a Folded Motion Waveguide that shapes how the high frequencies spread into the room. It widens and evens out the sweet spot so the detail holds up across a broader seating area, and it reduces the early reflections off nearby surfaces that can smear and dull the sound.
